Susan McQuade

Susan McQuade is a NYCOSH Safety and Health specialist and coordinates a number of projects within the organization. She implements NIOSH’s Youth@Work: Talking Safety curriculum, which works to integrate health and safety education into high school, and is working to add the curriculum into special education. She also coordinates several committees for NYCOSH, including the committee on infectious disease, the committee on safe patient handling, and the committee on nail salon health and safety. Susan is fluent in English and Spanish and received a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan. . Before joining NYCOSH’s staff in 2002, Susan spent eight years as an occupational health and safety educator with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where she also worked as a union organizer and labor educator. She served for four years as a union representative with Doctors Council, SEIU/10-MD.
